Building modern Web apps - alternatives to the aging SAP Web Dynpro
SAP created Web Dynpro to provide users with an easy way to build user interfaces for web-based applications in ABAP. Web Dynpro apps could be designed using tools in SAP integrated with the ABAP workbench. Good knowledge of ABAP is a pre-requisite in developing Web Dynpro applications and it enables Web Dynpro applications to be closely linked to SAP ERP and other related SAP applications.
SAP introduced Web Dynpro in 2003 as one of the components of the Netweaver platform, many users built web apps on the platform over the next decade, and some of those apps are still in use today.
